Multifactor sparse feature extraction using Convolutive Nonnegative Tucker Decomposition

چکیده
Multilinear algebra of the higher-order tensor has been proposed as a potential mathematical framework for machine learning to investigate the relationships among multiple factors underlying the observations. One popular model Nonnegative Tucker Decomposition (NTD) allows us to explore the interactions of different factors with nonnegative constraints. In order to reduce degeneracy problem of tensor decomposition caused by component delays, convolutive tensor decomposition model is an appropriate model for exploring temporal correlations. In this paper, a flexible two stage algorithm for K-mode Convolutive Nonnegative Tucker Decomposition (K-CNTD) model is proposed using an alternating least square procedure. This model can be seen as a convolutive extension of Nonnegative Tucker Decomposition. The patterns across columns in convolutive tensor model are investigated to represent audio and image considering multiple factors. We employ the K-CNTD algorithm to extract the shift-invariant sparse features in different subspaces for robust speaker recognition and Alzheimer's Disease(AD) diagnosis task. The experimental results confirm the validity of our proposed algorithm and indicate that it is able to improve the speaker recognition performance especially in noisy conditions and has potential application on AD diagnosis. & 2013 Elsevier B.V. متن کاملMulti-Domain Feature Extraction for Small Event-Related potentials through Nonnegative Multi-Way Array Decomposition from Low Dense Array EEG
Non-negative Canonical Polyadic decomposition (NCPD) and non-negative Tucker decomposition (NTD) were compared for extracting the multi-domain feature of visual mismatch negativity (vMMN), a small event-related potential (ERP), for the cognitive research. Since signal-to-noise ratio in vMMN is low, NTD outperformed NCPD. Moreover, we proposed an approach to select the multi-domain feature of an...
متن کاملAlgorithms for Sparse Nonnegative Tucker Decompositions
There is a increasing interest in analysis of large-scale multiway data. The concept of multiway data refers to arrays of data with more than two dimensions, that is, taking the form of tensors. To analyze such data, decomposition techniques are widely used. The two most common decompositions for tensors are the Tucker model and the more restricted PARAFAC model. Both models can be viewed as ge...
متن کاملFeature Extraction by Nonnegative Tucker Decomposition from EEG Data Including Testing and Training Observations
The under-sample classification problem is discussed for 21 normal childrenand 21 children with reading disability. We first rejected data of one subject in each group and produced 441 sub-datasets including 40 subjects in each. Regarding each sub-dataset, we extracted features through nonnegative Tucker decomposition (NTD) from event-related potentials, and used the leaveone-out paradigm for c...
متن کاملBayesian Sparse Tucker Models for Dimension Reduction and Tensor Completion
Tucker decomposition is the cornerstone of modern machine learning on tensorial data analysis, which have attracted considerable attention for multiway feature extraction, compressive sensing, and tensor completion. The most challenging problem is related to determination of model complexity (i.e., multilinear rank), especially when noise and missing data are present. In addition, existing meth...
